Hello there, and Happy Holidays! We know we’ve been a little remiss in our news letters over the last year, but we’re hoping you’ll forgive us when you see all we’ve been up to. This year has marked a lot of growth for Ringtail Cafe Productions, and our plans for next year are going to take things even further.

This year we were very happy to add several more people to the team. We have several new writers to welcome, who are taking on responsibilities on some of our titles, as well as artists who are taking on duties producing those books. We have entire teams devoted to seperate issues now. This means you should see issues of these books coming out more often. Several of the writers are also starting on new titles you’ll be seeing from us soon. We can’t speak on most of those yet, but the most notable is the fact we have an entire team devoted to continuing Ringtail Cafe, so expect to hear more from us about that one soon.

We’ve now got a full time colorist working on The Confectionaries, making our production of that title much faster. In fact, the next issue of The Confectionaries is going to be rolling out at the end of January. On top of that, we will be going straight into production of the next issue before that even hits print.

For those who aren’t aware, the original intention of The Confectionaries was to release them solely as graphic novels (with the Issue 0 being an introductory title), however we know people have been very patiently awaiting reading more about the adventures of these characters, so we have elected to do a -very limited- run of individual issues, for the first chapter of the series. If you are a collector, you will definitely want to get your hands on these.

Here is a sample of one of the pages:

Those of you following us on Facebook or Twitter might have noticed a lot of news coming in from our other website, theconfectionaries.com since that’s the title that has been our biggest focus right now. For those unaware of it, we are making a slight split between our websites. Ringtail Cafe’s site is intended as a general website about our titles, and the studio. The Confectionaries site is intended as the more all ages site, geared towards our younger readers, with games, activities, fun recipes, and other fun stuff. Oh, that’s right, did we mention games?

We’ve been starting to develop games based on our different series, and will be continuing to add new ones and update the ones we’ve already created. If you haven’t already, go check out the Scotch Flyer game on the confectionaries site!

Another fun feature that we’ve added to the site is our new Livestream channel, where you can actually watch us work on art, and even occassionally working on actual pages of the comic. Not to mention, those of you who make use of the online commission form can actually request to watch us do your commission in real time. How cool is that? We’d also like to remind everyone that because of our hectic schedule producing comics, we take very few commissions, so if you want to make sure to get one, don’t hesitate!

You’ll also hear some news from us in the new year about an upcoming special event. We will be getting together with several other publishing studios and hosting a fun event, in the spirit of friendly competition. Each team will be producing an 8 page comic, based on random themes selected over the course of a weekend. There should be some hilarious results!

One last thing to mention is that you might notice is that Ringtail Cafe Productions has become the sponsors of several Conventions, and events. We’re very proud to be a part of these events, and hope that you’ll check them out. These conventions and events have been great to us in the past, and more often than not are your first chance to pick up exclusive items from us. We’re going to have some very cool new products in the upcoming year.

Sorry for the long, rambling wall of text but we’ve just had so much going on, and so much to share. If you want to keep in the loop, the best way is to check out our website, facebook, twitter, or follow our RSS feed. Be sure to drop in on our livestream nights to watch us create stuff!

And once again, hoping everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

Here we go! Our very first game. We worked hard over the weekend to put together our first game. We learned a lot doing this, and you should see quick updates, and new games coming out rather frequently! Also remember to log in and comment on posts on the websites, because the points that you earn on the website will eventually be useful for perks in games!

Click the link below to go to the game! The game will also be accessible from the fun and games menu, from now on!

So, we’ve been playing around this weekend, and we built our first game. It’s a very simple side scrolling flyer game where you collect candy, and avoid some bats (and evil plants) It’s mainly geared towards young kids, but we have more advanced games coming down the line.

What we need now…are play testers. We’re on version 1.0 of the game, and we already have some upgrades planned (a few new enemy types, a few more background and foreground elements for the parallaxing effect, etc.)

What you see now, is a rough working model of what’s coming, minus a few of the pretty upgrades. It also doesn’t have the finalized music, or sound yet.

But, who wants to help test it out?

Oh, and as a side note…for those of you who may have missed it: We instituted a points system on the Confectionaries website, where you earn points for logging in each day, responding to posts, etc. Eventually, we will be tying those points into our game system to allow for in game bonuses, based on those points. ;)

Let us know if you want to help test! :D

Ringtail Cafe is proud to announce we will be show sponsors for the Lexington Comic & Toy Convention. Check out http://www.lexingtoncomiccon.com to take a look.  We will be providing the show with tote bags, buttons, and maybe even a few other surprises. This is going to be a first year show, and is already shaping up to be a pretty excellent start. An  Please share and reblog to help spread awareness of a new upcoming show. The more people know about it, the better it will be!

That’s right, if you join us tonight at 7:30, Eastern time at www.theconfectionaries.com we’ll be hosting another livestream. Tonight, you can actually watch us work on pages of the first issue of the comic! That’s an extra super special exclusive sneak peek!

Oh, and for those of you who want to get in good on the ground floor of the new rewards point system we’re adding to the site for games, make sure to voice yourselves in the chat room! ;)

We can’t tell you the details of this right now, but you should know there’s some new stuff rolling out for all you RTC fans!

It’s something that Ringtail Cafe has always wanted to explore, but didn’t have the time and resources to do so. That has finally changed, and we are currently working on the first Confectionaries game! It will be a simple side-scrolling game, featuring Scotch. Here is the initial sketch of the sprite animation. As the game development progresses, we’ll be posting weekly updates on http://www.theconfectionaries.com/ every Tuesday.
